The Timanfaya National Park is voluntarily bond to the Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009 of Eco-Management and Audit (EMAS), adopting the basic requirements of that regulation among which is the preparation of the environmental statement. The Environmental Management System in the park started in mid-2004, when all the documentation was prepared in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No. 761/2001 and the majority of the environmental aspects were measured. The Administration of the Timanfaya National Park Timanfaya decided to implement an Environmental Management System with the aim of taking further the commitment to the protection of the environment, thus integrating with the environment, in the most respectful way possible, the activities developed in its territory and its areas of influence.
The objective of the environmental statement is to communicate to all interested parties, public, other administrations, official agencies, suppliers, organizations, associations, groups and society in general, the environmental information of the park related to the caused environmental impact, the environmental behaviour of this protected area and the continuous improvement in environmental terms.
The Timanfaya National Park has the ISO 14001 certification, which establishes how to deploy an effective environmental management system and that was designed to achieve the highest level of quality in the services with the East environmental impact.
