Location: m.p. 7.5 of the TF-38 road (roadside viewpoint) This viewpoint has the name of the volcano of Sámara, which stands on the left side of it. With Pico Viejo in the background, the landscape is punctuated by other volcanic cones, such as La Botija, Montaña Reventada or Montaña de la Cruz de Tea. This allows you to get an idea of how difficult it is for plant species to colonize these fields (recent volcanic events and harsh climate).

Location: m.p. 3.2 of the TF-38 road (roadside viewpoint) Panoramic view of the eruption of the Narices del Teide, located on the slope of the volcano of Pico Viejo. In happened in 1798. It was the last volcanic eruption within the limits of the national park and the longer-lasting of all the historical eruptions of the island of Tenerife.

Location: m.p. 53 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) For the visitors entering from the South of the island, this is the first opportunity to fully observe the volcanic building composed of the Mount Teide and Pico Viejo. In addition, from this vantage point different types of lava flows can be seen, which partly fill the plain with varied combinations of shapes and colours, depending on its type and composition.

Location: m.p. 53.2 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint in the parking lot of the museum) This vantage point is associated with the ethnographic museum Juan Évora. In addition to the Teide and Pico Viejo, here you can observe in detail the significant changes of scenery between the pine forest and the thicket of the summit, as well as the impressive Barranco de Tauce.

Location: m.p. 50.5 of the TF-21 road (and a short walking tour of about 100 m) It is an observation site of a curious geological form of the national park, the Roque of the Zapatilla de La Reina (it looks like a female shoe heel). This is a set of stones that has been carved by various erosion agents, which reveal the harsh weather conditions prevailing in the area.

Location: m.p. 48.1 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) The Llano de Ucanca is thelargest glen in the national park. From here we can observe, in addition to the stratovolcanoes Teide and Pico Viejo, the flashy Roques de Garcia. It also stands out for its height and spectacularity the basalt roque of La Catedral, which rises almost vertically 144 meters above the plain.

Location: m.p. 47 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) In this viewpoint you can observe the Llano de Ucanca from an elevated position and reinterpret the erosion processes that took place in the area (break down rocks mainly by thermal stress-difference of temperatures night / day- and frost weathering-pressure of the ice crystals- ). It is also interesting due to the material of the environment itself: its appearance and unparalleled colours are caused by the strong pressure it was subjected to and the contact with water at very high temperatures before reaching the surface.

Location: m.p. 46.5 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) It is, without any doubt, the most visited vantage point of the national park. From its observation areas, the visitor can enjoy several privileged views. It is worth mentioning: the Western wall of La Caldera and the Llano de Ucanca; the spectacular view of the volcanic building composed of Mount Teide and Pico Viejo; the wide variety of materials and volcanic structures; the stunning set of roques that give the name to the area.

Location: m.p. 46.5 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) Scenarios associated with the Visitors Centre of Cañada Blanca and near the Parador of Las Cañadas del Teide. From here, not only can you contemplate the Teide in its fullness, but you can also enjoy the view of the Roques de Garcia and of Guajara and, usually, of the clear blue sky.

Location: m.p. 42.8 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) Spectacular views from the base of the Teide, both of Las Cañadas and the wall of the caldera and of the stratovolcano. Here, you can contemplate and reinterpret, among other milestones, the hillside of enormous slope (which is possible to escape "climbing" it with the cable car), lava flows, volcanic cones, escarpments,…

Location: using the cable car that departs from the m.p. 42.8 of the TF-21 road or going on foot, normally through Montaña Blanca (at 3.550 m of altitude) From this vantage point we can observe the Caldera de las Cañadas in its entirety, as well as the Southern area of the island of Tenerife and, in the distance, the island of Gran Canaria. It draws attention the strong gradient that has been overcome in such a little space and, above all, the height, almost at the highest point in Spain.

Location: using the cable car that starts at the m.p. 42.8 of the TF-21 road (and then walking along 731 m of the trail No. 12). Impressive panoramic views of the West of the island of Tenerife, highlighting the Cordillera de Abeque, the Macizo de Teno and, especially, the breathtaking crater of the volcano of Pico Viejo, which has 800 m in diameter and 200 m depth. In addition, normally you can clearly observe the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma.

Location: using the cable car that departs from the m.p. 42.8 of the TF-21 road (and then walking along 426 m of the trail No. 11). This vantage point offers a spectacular panoramic view of the centre and North of the island of Tenerife: the majestic valleys of La Orotava and Guancha-Icod; the massif of Anaga; and, closer, El Portillo and Izaña.

Location: m.p. 41.1 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint) View of the Valle Chiñoque, with its spectacular lava flow that comes from the volcano of Montaña Blanca, known as El Tabonal Negro. The term Tabona refers to a utensil used to cut, prepared by the prehispanic natives (guanches), made from obsidian rocks.

Location: m.p. 38.5 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoints) This viewpoint is composed of two distinct areas on both sides of the road, which crosses an old exploitation area of of open-air mines where the pumice stone was extracted . From the Northern area you can observe the whimsical shapes of the lavas that come from Montaña Rajada (because of the slope and its composition). From the Southern area we can enjoy an extensive view of the Caldera de Las Cañadas.

Location: m.p. 32.5 of the TF-21 road (roadside viewpoint and a few meters on foot) It has different and privileged observation platforms, associated both to the visitors centre itself and the Botanical Garden next to it, highlighting the varied information that is possible to get here.

Location: m.p. 33.5 of the TF-21 road (and walking about 100 m) From El Portillo Alto, the view of the nearby volcano of Arenas Negras, also known for its morphology as El asiento de gallina (the seat of the hen), at the beginning of the trail of the Siete Cañadas. From it we can also see part of the impressive wall of Las Cañadas and how it gets higher as we get closer.

Location: m.p. 42.5 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) The viewpoint offers a close-up view of the pine forest that fills the head of the Valley of La Orotava, in the area of El Portillo de la Villa. If you walk about 290 meters along an adapted path (for guests with reduced mobility), you get to some circular structures of stone known as tagorores, in which is possible to enjoy the area while sitting. Behind them is the volcano of El Alto de Guamaso.

Location: m.p. 39.8 of the TF-24 road (and 263 meters walking along a path) Although the parking of this viewpoint is at the edge of the road, you have to walk along a path to get to the base of the Roque del Caramujo. The trail is adapted to guests with reduced mobility and finishes in an area with stone benches, which allows to have a relaxed observation and enjoyment of the landscape, highlighting the remains of shepherd huts in the area.

Location: m.p. 38 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) To the left, in the Cabezon Izaña, we can observe the spectacular set of towers for astrophysical observation. In front of the viewpoint, behind the first plain nearby that bears its name, we can see the Llano del Río that is closed in the distance by a set of volcanic cones of intense black colour, which appeared in a historical epoch (Siete Fuentes in 1704 and Fasnia in 1705).

Location: m.p. 0.5 TF-514 road (roadside viewpoint) When you are very close to the atmospheric and astrophysical observatories, it is possible to observe volcanoes both inside and outside the caldera of Las Cañadas, some created in a single eruption (monogenic), others consisting of several successive eruptions.

Location: m.p. 35.4 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) This view is flanked by the hills of the Cabezón Izaña, on its left, and of Yegua Blanca, on its right. From it, you have a view of a small valley, punctuated by a large group of volcanoes, many of them created after fissure eruptions, as is the case of the one that gives the name to this viewpoint: Montaña Limón.

Location: m.p. 31.7 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) From here you have a view to the Valley of La Orotava, formed about 500,000 years ago and framed between the slopes of Tamaide and Santa Ursula to the East, and Tigaiga to the West. It also has a spectacular panoramic view of the stratovolcano Teide.

Location: m.p. 31.8 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) Located in the head of a small ravine of the summit, it allows you to observe in detail the erosion by surface runoff in the fragile material that surrounds it. As a background landscape, the island of La Palma.

Location: m.p. 31.9 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) An amazing slope composed by piles of volcanic materials of different eras, chronologically distant but of similar morphology, which came to light when the terrain was cut to make the road. The name of La Tarta (The Cake) was given due to the variety of colours and the number of the strata.

Location: m.p. 32.8 of the TF-24 road (roadside viewpoint) Located in the back of the Montaña de Igueque, this viewpoint overlooks the pine forest of the Valley of La Orotava. From here you can also contemplate the thick cloud layer that tends to cover the North of the island and that is known as el mar de nubes (the sea of clouds).
