This route goes around Los Roques (Roque Cinchado, El Torrotito, El Burro, Roques Blancos,...), which stand on the left side of the walker during the journey. The track, which is completely flat at the beginning , continues to descend after walking around Los Roques on their Northern side, until it reaches the plain known as Llano de Ucanca (of sedimentary origin). During the descent, and before arriving at this plain, you can see the amazing lava flow known as La Cascada, as well as the pahoe hoe lavas, which are wavy and a little rough. About this type of very fluid lava flows, when they acquire twisted shapes they are called "corded lava". There are several striking examples along the way.
After walking through a short stretch of this plain, leaving, at your left, some prominent walls of dikes formed by very viscous magma, the ascent up to the point of departure begins, after previously skirting the spectacular Pitón known as La Catedral. This impressive rock formation is a phonolite volcanic vent, this means, an outlet lava duct that solidified without emerging to the surface, now visible due to the erosional process.
The flora we can observe in this path is quite diverse and representative of the Cañadas: retamas (Spartocytisus supranubius), codesos, rosalitos de cumbre, hierbas pajoneras (Descurainia bourgeauana) and magarzas (Argyranthemum frutescens). At the beginning of the tour, we can also contemplate cabezones (Cheirolopus teydis) and a cedro.
