Born in Tallinn, Estonia, Dara Savinova obtained her master’s degree from the Mozarteum University of Salzburg and took master classes with Sabina Martinaitite, Elisabeth Wilke, Thomas Moser, Paolo de Napoli, Gerd Uecker, Alessandro Misciaci, Anita Garanca, Dmitri Vdovin, Evgeni Nesterenko, Francisco Araiza, Fabio Luisi, Irina Gavrilovici, Glenys Linos, Christoph Loy, Andreas Homoki, Sherman Loewe, Brigitte Fassbänder, Sonia Prina, and Stefania Bonfadelli.
For the seasons 2013/14 and 2014/15 she was a member of the International Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera.
Dara Savinova is the winner of Olga Sosnovskaya International Young Vocalists Contest (Grand Prix, 2004), the International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia (1st Prize, 2005), Sabina Martinaityte International Competition in Kaunas, Lithuania (2nd Prize, 2006), II International Competition of Opera Arias in Karpacz, Poland (2nd Prize, 2007), 17th International Competition for opera singers Ferruccio Tagliavini (Finalist, 2011).
Her operatic repertoire comprises Olga in Eugene Onegin, Galatea in Handel’s Aci, Galatea e Polifemo, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro (Universität Mozarteum Salzburg Opernstudio), Paggio della Duchessa in Rigoletto, Lehrbub in Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Fisherwoman in Peter Grimes, Prinzessin in Iris Ter Shiphorst’s Gänsemagd, Bess in F.Schwemmer‘s Robin Hood, cover Tebaldo in Don Carlo, cover Paulina in The Queen of Spades, cover Mercedes in Carmen, Ungeborene Kinder in Die Frau Ohne Schatten, 2.Herr in B. Martinu‘s Juliette, Jelisaweta Bam in Oscar Strasnoy‘s Fälle, and cover 2.Dame in Die Zauberflöte (all Zurich), Alcide in La Lotta D`Ercole con Acheloo and cover Rinaldo in Armida both at the Festival della Valle D`Itria in Martina Franca, Italy.
